Winter Flowers 2005-2007
(Inspired by and in memory of Nick, for Grandad)
...for when Spring is too long away to wait.
A 'make your own "Spring" kit'. A wooden box which opens to reveal a row of aluminium flowers, a row of lamps and a number of tools and 'detonation cables'. The flowers when closed appear to be cold and mechanical objects, but on removing a thorn from the stem, explode open to reveal a vibrant and rich raw silk interior.
